I missed you

It's been a while since i've made a post but it's just because i have been dealing with a few different things. I'm actually in the process of moving to wordpress and continue the blog fresh and even newer. I'm ready to take another major step in my career, and with big steps it takes big preparation, mentally and physically. Once Again Back is The Incredible

I been gone for a minute but I'm back at it. It has been such a partying weekend up until last night. Some interesting stuff has happened the past few days that i would like to share with you. 

1st, two nights ago i ended up going to the Drake/Young Money after party at Circa here in Tdot and i was absolutely ashamed at what i saw. No, i wasn't upset that Drake, Jeezy and Trey didn't spit a few lines on the mic, in fact, I wouldn't have either if i was on stage and saw how the crowd was reacting... or not reacting! This is a problem i have with Toronto, we have way too much PRIDE! It seems like its got to the point where we are afraid to be fans or to show love to one of our biggest superstars. We have the most buzzed rapper in the game, an artist from our city has possibly the best record deal in all of History, and we decide to stand around and stare when we should be celebrating. I was ashamed to hear people in the crowd say "Drake ain't no celebrity" or "Why are people screaming its only Drake" ... my question is, why were you there if you are coming with that mentality? Drizzy we need a Heart Of The City Freestyle.

2nd (on a brighter note) If you know me real well, you know I'm a strong believer in signs and that everything happens for a reason, either to prepare you for what is to come or the result will have a positive effect on your life, even if the action was negative. The past week i have just been reflecting and trying to look at my life from the outside and I am beginning to realize that numerous little things seem to be falling into place and somehow connecting to each other. Now i'm not going to tell you what is happening right now, i'm going to leave it for the music of course. Just know I'm never going to stop, and no matter how difficult it gets the more entertaining it is for me, I strive off of challenges and the harder it gets the better i know I'm doing. 

3rd because I love helping others more than I do myself sometimes (not sure if that is really a good thing) but I found this pretty interesting. Majority of the greatest musicians tend to say that there is actually a formula in making a Great song. I came across this 12 step formula in making competitive music. It might be about country music but apply it to your own hope it helps, I'm taping this to my wall lol.

Well a Birthday girft i seemed to have gotten today was being able to sit down with James Pew a musician who works at a Recording Studio named "Euphonic Sounds". You know i've been looking for a new home, and i might have found it here. Place is amazing, rates are excellent and you need to find out about this program they have called "Studio 2.0", some intelligent stuff for any Indie artist. Studio Search

I've decided that even though I'm not making crazy money I need to move on up and push myself and start doing more of my recordings in a more advanced establishment. This leads me to my studio search. I'm looking up studio's located in the GTA (mainly closer to the city though). I found myself at Number 9 Studios today. Got to shout out to Mike, the front desk guy he gave me a full tour of the place, usually got to bookahead for that, thanks bro.

Now I usually tend to write my posts in all caps, but for this one i decided to be a little different. Different is exactly what MJ was right? Different, natural, artistic, revolutionary! I'll be here all day trying to describe him with one word. But I'm pretty sure some of you are saying "Oh my god you're 19 years old what do you know about Michael Jackson?" or "I've never heard you mention Michael Jackson until he passed away, you're a bandwagonist." Which to some extent could be true, but instead of everyone trying to seem like they are the biggest MJ fan we are starting to look past the bigger picture. To see a 19 year-old affected by such a tragedy shows how powerful this man's music was. You should be happy, shouldn't you? 

MJ was more than a moonwalk, he was more than selling over 100 million records worldwide, more than winning 13 Grammy's in his whole career, he was something much more. And he has always been something more, from when he first dropped his first solo album "Off The Wall" Michael was giving us music that was truly pure, and full of life. He was a man who was born to be an artiste, and entertainer, whatever you want to call it now a days, and always strived to be better than what he was the day before. I don't want to drag this post out, I just am someone who feels you should go out of the way to honor those who have done so much for the world and has done so much for myself. I'm not hear to prove that I am a bigger fan than you, or that Michael affected me more than you, it's not about that, its about letting the world know that I am thankful for everything he has done! You showed me how to be a true artist in this business and keep your integrity every step of the way, and i know you loved doing what you were able to do. 

So simply to say: Thank you! and now you really can walk on the moon.

If you need evidence of just how ridiculous and broken copyright law has
become, look no further than the legal squall generated by Lil Wayne¹s track
I Feel Like Dying.

Urband & Lazar Music Publishing are suing Lil Wayne for the use of an
uncleared sample from a track by Karma-Ann Swanepoel. That¹s a business
suing, not the actual creator of the track. Oh, and they want to see
financial data from the album Tha Carter III.

I Feel Like Dying isn¹t on Tha Carter III, but: a lawyer for Urband & Lazar argues that Lil Wayne promoted the album by singing that song in concert and allowing fans to download it for free on
his Web site.

So they¹re looking for a slice of money from album sales on a track that
wasn¹t even on the album.

Let¹s just take a moment or two to pull up a chair, and ponder this: Lil
Wayne uses a sample  uncleared, admittedly  on a track he gave away. So
he¹s being sued on the basis, presumably, that someone who heard the sample
might have gone on to buy the album  a someone who wouldn¹t have done so
otherwise.

Pt. 2
Rapper Lil Wayne is suing the producer of a song he performed that allegedly
sampled another singer¹s work without permission.

A lawsuit filed last year against Lil Wayne accuses him of copyright
infringement, saying he failed to secure permission to sample folk singer
Karma-Ann Swanepoel¹s song ³Once² on his track ³I Feel Like Dying.²

A lawsuit filed last week by the rapper¹s lawyers says Rebel Rock
Productions Inc., of Coconut Creek, Fla., produced ³I Feel Like Dying² and
was responsible for obtaining any necessary licensing agreements.
